IMSU Expel 60 Students with less than 1.00 CGPA
No fewer than 60 students of the Imo State University,IMSU, Owerri,
including some in their final year who made below 1.00 cumulative grade
points average have been expelled from the institution, while students
who made above 1.00 but fell below 1.5 grade points for the 2011/2012
session were reportedly asked to repeat a session.
the action which caused tension and confusion in the institution was one
of the policies introduced by the new Vice Chancellor of the
institution, Professor Ukachukwu Awuzie, the immediate past Chairman of
the Academic Staff Union of Universities.
While some students hailed the new policy, others denounced it, urging the VC to rescind it.
