LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – Ronaldinho is not dead. Ronaldinho (Ronaldo de Assis Moreira) is battling a fake death report today. The soccer star of Atlético Mineiro is the latest celebrity victimized by a fake death tale this week. But Ronaldinho might very well be the first soccer star to be the subject of a fabricated death story in recent months. Ronaldinho is currently the subject of two fake death stories today. One originates from Necropedia. The other is from Media Fetcher aka Global Associated. Both are completely erroneous and angering fans today.

The first fake death story originates from peculiar website Necropedia. The story’s title reads “Ronaldinho is dead” but then the subtitle reads that he is “anticipated” to have died. If that’s not confusing enough, the body of the fake tale reads “Death of Ronaldinho …He died on September 4, 2012, at the age of 32.” But then in another sentence it proclaims “no one has died”. The second fake death tale should sound familiar. It originates from Global Associated aka Media Fetcher.

That story claims that Ronaldinho died today in a car crash on Route 80 between Morristown and Roswell. This absurd, fabricated, old story has been used against dozens, if not hundreds, of celebrities over the years. In recent months, music celebrities are most often targeted by Global with death stories concerning “Route 80?. In July, David Guetta was fictitiously listed dead in a car crash on Route 80. Then the same thing happened to DJ Tiesto. To no surprise, the same fake death story even exists for Armin Van Buuren. Ronaldinho has been with Atlético Mineiro since earlier this year. He previously had played with Flamengo for one year, Milan for two years, and Barcelona for five years. Former teammate Rui Costa once said of Ronaldinho “There are not many players who can offer goal scoring passes like he can. He is just marvelous. He is a rare case of an assist man who can provide the ball from anywhere.” Ronaldinho is not dead, nor is Eddie Murphy, Usher, or David Guetta.
